What are the published Missouri requirements for points and repeat violations?

Missouri's point system has two tiers, based on how many points you accumulate and how quickly: 1. 8 points within 18 months leads to a suspension. The length escalates with each suspension within a 5-year window: 30 days for the 1st, 60 days for the 2nd, and 90 days for the 3rd. To reinstate, serve the suspension, pay the $20 reinstatement fee, and provide proof of insurance. You do not need an SR-22 for this, unless your underlying conviction independently required one (for example, an uninsured accident). A Limited Driving Privilege is not available for a points suspension. Once you reinstate, your point total resets to 4. 2. 12 points within 12 months leads to a 1-year revocation. This is a fixed-period revocation that reinstates automatically once you complete the requirements; it is not something a judge decides case by case. To reinstate, serve the 1-year revocation, pass the new-driver tests (vision, written, and road), file an SR-22 (2 years) through your insurer, and pay the $20 reinstatement fee. There is no hearing involved.

Published fee information

$20 DOR reinstatement for both tiers (8-pt suspension and 12-pt revocation). 12-pt revocation adds new-driver retesting (vision / written / road) + SR-22 (2 yr) insurer-filed. 8-pt suspension: no SR-22 unless the underlying conviction was independently SR-22-triggering.
